Dr Themos Gourlas: Osteopath, Hypnotherapist and Master NLP practitioner in Doonan – Noosa, Our Health Tribe.

I began studying Osteopathy in 1998 after some earlier studies in Mathematics and Finance at the University of Technology Sydney, after realising that helping people offered me so much satisfaction and enjoyment.

I became interested in understanding biomechanics and movement, and how this impacted peoples life and pain and use this knowledge to help my patients.

I treat all ages with with either acute or chronic pain and any of the vast number of musculoskeletal complaints. I love working with my patients to get the most effective care for their complaints.

Expect a wide variety of techniques and treatment modalities. I prefer to get into tissues and engage them directly with strong firm techniques. I also spend time stretching, moving and releasing the body. I have experience with Dry Needling and often use it in clinic.

I like to keep up to date with research and evidence to provide you with a effective way to manage pain and improve your life.

My interest in how mechanical foot problems cause pain led me to become trained and qualified in the prescription of custom orthotics using the Gait Scan system. The Gait Scan is an effective way to accurately measure the foot whilst moving and create exact innersoles for shoes if necessary.

Also in 2013, I completed my study in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and deep state re-patterning, furthering my passion and interest in human behaviour, choice, and positive psychology. I use these techniques consistently to provide patients with a more effective strategy for dealing with their presenting complaints.

In 2015 I furthered my education and skill set around behaviour and modern psychology, completing my training in Clinical Hypnosis and I now combine hypnotherapy with NLP, to provide patients with quick and effective behavioural change.

I have successfully opened and operated two allied health clinics in Sydney, (Bankstown Health and St George Health) with teams of up to 15 practitioners. After years of running practices, I have decided to step back and focus on doing what I love the most. Helping YOU!
